The director

Action Academy, bringing creative arts workshops to a selection of different venues near you. Derby born actress, Manjeeven Grewal, has structured every workshop herself, and will be teaching the classes. She will share the skills she has developed from the many years of training and experience she has gained working in the film industry.

Manjeeven has been acting since a young age. At her very first audition aged 11 she was cast as a main character in the Bafta award winning CITV series, My Life As A Popat. This led to many opportunities including co presenting an episode of the Toonatic show aired on CITV.

In 2008 Manjeeven starred as Ellen in the Paramount movie Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging which was released world wide. Having a passion for different forms of theatre, Manjeeven decided to study Drama BA HONS  at the University of Greenwich with the dream of opening up her very own academy one day. The dream was inspired by her placement at  Stratford Circus Theatre where she worked as choreographer and team coach for the Youth theatre.  Manjeeven worked closely with the children choreographing dance routines and leading drama exercises.

With her dream in mind Manjeeven decided to launch Action Academy to the Junior students of Derby High School in 2016. Within the second term, Action Academy had a full class with a waiting list for next term. Manjeeven has always loved working with children and exploring the Arts. Her aim was to develop fun and unique workshops that teach theatrical technique and discipline in a fun and exciting environment. Children should never stop having fun, and here at Action Academy that's exactly what we bring....
